HOW DO I START A YOUNG LIVING BUSINESS
Your First Month
- First and foremost, love your oils. There are no quotas. You get to do your business at your own pace! You sell when you want to sell, and what you want to sell. It is YOUR choice how committed you would like to be, and NOBODY knows what you are comfortable with except you!

Set your goals for this month:
a. Sell 2 Kits
b. Post 4 times
c. Host or Co-Host an online class
d. Host or Co-Host an in-person event
e. Make sure your order is 100pv to qualify for all bonuses and commissions (Have people add onto your order if you need to!)
- Make your first post. Don’t let it be a marketing piece – make it be something that is working for you. If you need ideas, there is an entire file about how to post effectively. Try to do one oily post for every 5-8 posts. Also, refrain from saying “contact me for more information” or “check out my website”. Let people comment and ask questions – let THEM carry the conversation. Answer their questions, and then reach out in a private message with more information and an invitation to chat one on one, attend an event or join an education group. You can also watch who is “liking” your posts. Make sure to go to their page and comment on their pictures, posts, etc – start a conversation and relationship. As time builds, they will probably ask you about EO information, or you can approach them and not feel salesy because you’d been working on that friendship and trust bridge! When in doubt about what to post – ask in your business discussion group!

No matter what your commitment level is, watch ALL of the videos about the compensation plan and training that you can. Go through every post available regarding business training. Print out the compensation plan and draw out what your goals are in words as well as pictures with your downline! Don’t have people enrolled yet? Make up names – write in your dream team of what your business looks like at the next rank, and the rank after that, and after that. Visualization is helpful!

Set up your ER. Start making rewards on the YL products you love. Setting this up helps you start earning rewards AND shows your commitment level. If you can commit to 50pv, great! Discuss with your enroller what that means for your business. If you can commit to 100pv, you have now opened up a greater opportunity. Having 100pv ER means that you will qualify yourself as a leg for the person above you (so they will want to help you grow!). This also means that those who commit to 100pv ER below you on level 1 will count as your legs. When someone commits, the strategy is different and strategic placement/stacking can start. If your ER is less than 100pv, it is not wise to stack you (or stack anyone not committed to 100pv) because you are not counting as a qualifying leg. Qualifying legs are important for Rising Star Bonus, Executive, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Crown Diamond, and Royal Crown Diamond.
a. In very special circumstances, we do suggest stacking before this commitment is made, discuss with your enroller if/when that would benefit your business.
- Get to know the compensation plan inside and out. Watch videos, print the compensation plan. Know what it takes to get to the next 2 ranks. Know what it takes to hit RCD. Know what the set up will look like for you!

Rank Basics
a. Distributor. We ALL start at this rank, every single month.
We are all back to 0.
b. Star. OGV 500. Overall group volume – your order plus everyone else in your downline. This means that you personally have 100pv (product value), and everyone in your downline added to your order is greater than or equal to 500. As you increase the number of people in your downline, it will become easier to get to and pass 500 each month. Once you hit Star, your race for Executive in 3 (Ei3) starts the following month.
c. Senior Star. OGV 2,000; 100pv personally
d. Executive. OGV 4,000. 100pv personally, MUST have 2 qualifying legs each with a personal order of at least 100pv and 1,000ogv of their own. Once you hit executive, your race for Silver in 6 (Si6) starts the following month.
e. Silver. OGV 10,000. 100pv personally, MUST have 2 qualifying legs each with a personal order of at least 100pv and 4,000ogv on their own. Once you hit Silver, your race for Gold in 6 (Gi6) starts the following month.
