Hurricane Harvey-Texas Strong

As I sit here this morning and start to process the past two weeks deployment to Katy/Dayton, Texas, I am reminded that there are still many who have not yet started the recovery process of clean up, who are still not receiving help, who may of not had a meal in at least a day. Humanity. Humbleness. Love. Mercy. Compassion. Jesus always stopped to help someone no matter how “terrible” the person might be, how different the person might be, how unclean or sinful.  He is the God of mercy and compassion! He holds their hands! The Savior of the world does the same for you and me. We are all lacking just like the next, I firmly believe the most powerful thing we can do for another person is not to try and fix their pain, but to acknowledge it. To hold their hand and cry with them. As a Disaster Relief Lead Cook and Chaplain, I can not heal. But Jesus can. 

Regardless if you live in a gated community, on the other side of the tracks or at the bottom of the river, please consider stepping outside of your box and being the hands and feet of Jesus, put aside the worldly, material items, come along side a Disaster Relief Volunteer with Colorado Baptist Disaster Relief, be the hands and feet. If your unable to volunteer, would you prayful consider coming along side me in reaching my goal of $1000 to cover lodging and meals traveling to and from Texas for my next three deployments.
