Humbled

Kindness of strangers is still surprising and we have not yet even arrived in Houston. Today is Monday, Sept 4th when we were getting ready to pray before loading up in the vehicles this morning, a man came over and asked if we were headed to Houston. He expressed his gratitude that we were here to help. Him and his family headed to their vacation home in Montana to escape Harvey, their house was in the 100 year flood plane and did not flood, but they had friends whose homes did flood.

Driving down Highway 287, people honk their horns and wave. A man donated a $100 bill while a little girl no more than maybe 5, donated  $20. Yes, there is still generosity and kindness. As we travel today we see cars packed and carrying extra cans of gas. I keep thinking what is waiting for us in Houston? Why are those more generous only when there are catastrophic, life changing hurricane or storms?

We are commanded to be the hands and feet of Jesus ALL THE TIME, not on our time or when it may fit into your life.

In every way I’ve shown you that by laboring like this, it is necessary to help the weak and to keep in mind the words of the Lord Jesus, for He said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’ ””
‭‭Acts‬ ‭20:35‬ ‭HCSB‬‬
